November Newsletter

Dear Valued Friend and Supporter,

As the season of gratitude arrives, we’re filled with excitement about the momentum building at The PLACE—and profound appreciation for you, our community, who stand alongside us.

This month marks a powerful new chapter. Our Outreach Center has reopened its doors at 423 E. Cucharras Street, welcoming young people into a warm, safe space where they can rest, share a meal, and connect with the resources they need to thrive.

Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, December 9, but you don’t have to wait, early giving is open now through December 9! We’re also launching our “Home for the Holidays” campaign, ensuring local youth have more than shelter this season—they have a place to truly belong.

We’re honored to once again participate in the Empty Stocking Fund alongside 19 other local nonprofits. When you’re downtown, we invite you to visit The Gazette building to see our Christmas tree, beautifully adorned with ornaments created by The PLACE youth and staff—each one a reflection of what home means to them.

And here’s something that fills us with complete and total joy: our Launchpad apartments are almost at full capacity, providing stable housing to 50 young people who now have a safe place to call home. Like Maya, who moved into Launchpad with her 4-year old daughter Emma, thanks to supporters like you.

Our community continues to show up in extraordinary ways. During our recent Roll Up Your Sleeves for Youth event, volunteers helped us transform the shelter building into the welcoming outreach center it is today. As we settle into our newly reopened space we’re ready to grow our volunteer family once again. Select the below link for ways you can contribute skills, time, expertise or anything else you’d like to share.

As always, your continued support makes every milestone possible — from a warm meal to a safe place to sleep. Thank you for being part of The PLACE community and helping youth find safety, stability, and home.

Thank you for believing in The PLACE and the young people we serve. Together, we’re building something remarkable.

With gratitude,

Your friends at the PLACE

Current Needs

All donations can be dropped off at 423 E. Cucharras St. Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Across our housing programs, young people rely on SNAP (food assistance) benefits to help stretch their limited budgets and put food on the table. With your help, our staff are making sure no one goes hungry.

At our Drop-In Center, we’re also seeing more young people stop in for warm meals and snacks. For someone who’s been on the streets or just moved into housing, that simple act — a hot meal shared with people who care — can mean the world. Your food donations help us fill the gap, providing nourishment, comfort, and hope while federal aid catches up.

Donate food at 423 E. Cucharras St., Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
We especially need protein items such as ground beef, turkey, chicken, or ready-to-eat frozen family-style meals as well as sandwich fixings, cereal, milk, cookies, crackers, protein bars, fresh fruit, veggies, and beef jerky.  We have freezers, fridges, and a pantry for food storage.

Looking Ahead

As we wrap up this year, we’re already looking ahead to what’s next, and we hope you’ll join us. Keep an eye out for our Launch Party this spring, a celebration of progress, community, and new beginnings. And mark your calendar for Off the Street Breakfast on July 16, 2026 — one of our most inspiring mornings of the year. Want to be part of making these events happen? Whether you volunteer, advocate, or give, there’s a place for you in this story. We couldn’t do this without you.
