Support the PLACE with an In-Kind Donation
To schedule a drop-off of In-Kind donations, please contact Sara Vestal via email sara.vestal@theplacecos.org or phone 719-266-2654.
Your generosity makes a tangible difference in the lives of young people served by the PLACE. Monetary gifts allow our staff to purchase what is needed, when it’s needed. However, there are many ways that you can support youth on the streets, in our shelter, and in our housing programs by donating the items we regularly need.
You can browse our curated Amazon Wish List, featuring the essential items our clients need everyday. We prioritize practicality over brand names or specific quantities. The items on our wish list represent the broader product, i.e. any brand of shampoo or conditioner would be appreciated. Your contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful impact.

Clothing & Used Donations:
The PLACE partners with Goodwill who are equipped to handle used donations. We appreciate that you want to support the PLACE with donations for clothing, however we do not have the space or staff capacity to accept used goods. Goodwill is able to provide the PLACE with free voucher for the youth we serve. Because we are working with youth to help them develop budgeting and financial skills, the practice of taking them shopping to purchase the items they most need, within their budget is part of our case management process. In addition, enabling youth to choose the items they want from a large selection is far more empowering than having them choose from the limited supply we can store, which might not be the right size or look for what they need. This approach really serves the needs of the youth far better than what we could provide within our very strained space.
