Support The PLACE with an In-Kind Donation
Your generosity makes a tangible difference in the lives of young people served by The PLACE. Monetary gifts allow our staff to purchase what is needed, when it’s needed. However, there are many ways that you can support youth on the streets, in our shelter, and in our housing programs by donating the items we regularly need.
You can browse our curated Amazon Wish List, featuring the essential items our clients need everyday. We prioritize practicality over brand names or specific quantities. The items on our wish list represent the broader product, i.e. any brand of shampoo or conditioner would be appreciated. Your contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful impact.
Our most urgent needs include the following items:
- NEW Towels, bath & hand/face
- NEW Pillows
- Reusable water bottles
- Toilet Paper/Paper towels
- Dishwasher detergent/Dish soap
- Sponges/Cleaning cloths
- Ethnic/Natural hair products
- Bus passes and gift cards in $10 increments. Grocery stores, Wal-Mart, Target, 7-11, fast food places, etc. are most useful.
In addition to the listed items we also accept donations of the following items:
Household Items
- Laundry detergent pods
- Toilet cleanser
- Household cleansers
- Shower curtains & rods (bathtub length only)
- Sleeping bags
Food
- Individual-size snacks (granola bars, jerky, peanut butter crackers, trail mix, fruit cups, etc.)
- Non-perishable, microwaveable food
Personal Care
- Body wash/Bar soap/Hand soap
- Razors & shaving cream (Individual, not kits)
- Deodorant
- Toothpaste & toothbrushes
Clothing Donations
Please note that we currently accept only NEW clothing items. For used clothing donations, we encourage you to connect with our partners at Goodwill or Arc Thrift Stores. If you would like to donate new clothing, please note that our most needed items are:
- Underwear
- Pajamas/scrubs
- Sweatpants/basketball shorts/loungewear
